Phil Morgan - Senior Pastor

Pastor Phil came to First Assembly in June of 2003.  Born in England, his family moved to Australia where he was raised from 3 years of age.  His father and grandfather were both Assemblies of God ministers, and Pastor Phil's own call to preach came when he was just a teenager. A graduate of Commonwealth Bible College (now Southern Cross College) in Sydney, Australia, he is married to Alli, and they have 4 children - Ben, Sam, Bethwyn and Ewan. His passion is preaching, and he enjoys reading, writing, and playing golf badly.

Alli directs the Women's ministries at First Assembly, and works with her husband in pastoral care. She also loves to be involved in drama presentations.

Al Van Geersdaele - Assistant Pastor - Pastoral Ministries

Pastor Al and his wife Louise are long time residents of Southbury CT.  They are blessed with their adult sons Aaron and Joshua and daughter in-law Natasha.  Al trusted in Christ for salvation in 1981.  He worked at Southbury Training School as the Power Plant Chief Engineer for 34 years.  He served as a Deacon in his former AG church for 22 years.  During this time he took courses at the Berean School of the Bible.  He became a Certified Minister in 1987, and became a Licensed Minister with the Assemblies of God in January 2005.  Pastor Al became First Assembly's Minister of Pastoral Care in February 2009.  His passion is preaching, teaching, reading, evangelism, and serving God's people.

Louise has been a RN at Danbury Hospital for the past 10 years and takes every opportunity to minister to the sick and their families

Sean Cooper - Assistant Pastor - Student Ministries

Pastor Sean grew up in First Assembly. After High School he joined the U.S. Marine Corp, and served one tour of duty in Iraq. When he returned home he completed a Degree in Biblical Studies at Zion Bible College, Haverall, MA., and joined our staff full time in 2009. He is married to Amy. He loves paintballing, nerf wars, Johnny Cash, and all things Irish.

Josh Van Geersdaele - Assistant Pastor - Music Ministries

Pastor Josh has led worship at First Assembly since 2007.  He completed his ministry studies with Valley Forge Christian College and the Southern New England District School of Ministry, and was licensed as a Assemblies of God Minister in March of 2010. He's married to Natasha, and he's passionate about music, revival, preaching and UFC (yup ... he loves to get in the ring with guys intent on badly hurting him!)
